Its natural habitat spans across China, India, Japan, and Vietnam, where it adds a touch of allure to the region's botanical landscapes . it produces fragrant yellow colored flowers which have red and green bracts. Plant has underground large and tuberous branch like stems which are processed under steam distillation to produce essential oil. Essential oil obtained is golden yellow in color and mostly used to make medicine.
