Belonging to the esteemed Rosaceae family within the plant kingdom, Rose Essential Oil is derived from a hybrid shrub, with its parent shrubs being Rosa Gallica and Rosa Phoenix. This oil is also called essence of rose. It is fragrant, colourless or pale-yellow and is distilled from fresh petals of Rosa Damascena. The plant originates from the picturesque lands of Iran and has found a new home in Bulgaria and Turkey, which have emerged as the largest producers worldwide of this cherished flower.

For dermal use, a maximum of 0.6% is advised, and for oral consumption, a maximum dose of 21 mg is recommended. These limits are based on a methyleugenol content of 3.3%, with corresponding methyleugenol thresholds of 0.02% for dermal use and 0.01 mg/kg for oral intake. In terms of regulatory guidelines this substance holds a "Generally Recognized as Safe" (GRAS) status.
IFRA suggests a maximum concentration of 0.0004% methyleugenol in leave-on products such as body lotions. The SCCNFP recommends an equivalent maximum of 0.0002% for methyleugenol.

LABORATORY TESTING **
Standard testing is done by Gas Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry.
About 60% of adulterated oils cannot be detected by standard testing.
Additional testing methods are Chirality Testing, Isomeric Testing, Marker Compound Testing, Component Ratio Evaluation and others.

This product should be avoided during pregnancy and by individuals with sensitive skin. Can cause sensitization and shuld be used in very low concentrations. All Essential Oils are highly concentrated, and if applied to skin or body, should be diluted up to a maximum dosage of 4% within a suitable carrier oil.
